Annual Meeting Awards Dinner and Party – Wednesday, April 18th at 7:00pm
For the first-time ever, TCUL will host the awards ceremony at the Annual Meeting dinner party on the evening of April 18th. This change will allow for a more prestigious venue to celebrate the success, hard work and spectacular accomplishments of credit union leaders.
With the help of the hilarious broadway office group, the Watercoolers, TCUL will recognize Foundation FOCUS, Advocacy and Hall of Fame award recipients at this fun and energizing event. Professional, Volunteer and Small CU Achiever of the Year recipients were recognized at TCUL’s 2011 Leadership Conference & Expo. However, this year (as well as in subsequent years), TCUL will also recognize these winners at the annual meetings awards dinner and party. Party tickets are included in the member and guest conference registration fees. Extra tickets can be purchased on a first come first serve basis, upon available seating. Ticket prices are $70 for early bird and $100 onsight.

The Surf City All-Stars
The Surf City Allstars perform the Greatest Hits of the Beach Boys and Jan&Dean, just like they did for years with those legendary acts. The Allstars will entertain your group with such audience participation segments as their famous "Air Guitar" contest, where the band gives away a brand new, autographed Fender Stratocaster guitar; the "Wipe Out Drum Contest" where audience members get a chance to play the famous drum solo with the Allstars and win autographed drumsticks and a T-shirt; our "Dance Contest" where CD prizes are given away; and the Allstars can even do a "Hula-Hoop Contest" on request, where we give away more CDs and a DVD. It all adds up to one memorable Beach Party experience for your audience that no other band does. The Surf City Allstars can also add the finest classic rock dance tunes on request at each event so everyone can dance to their favorite songs and have fun.

Galveston Island Historical Tour

Take a comfortable journey through historic Galveston Island where the glories of the 19th century are interwoven with 20th century pleasures. Galveston, Texas, was the second richest city in the United States and the leading cotton port in the world until the devastating hurricane of 1900. The city made a remarkable recovery and is now a fascinating combination of old, restored, and new. Your group will tour two of the landmark historical homes in Galveston, highlighting the glamour and wealth of Galveston in the 1800’s.
BISHOP’S PALACE
Tour Galveston’s most recognizable architectural attraction, the Bishop's Palace. Ranked among the top 100 homes in the U.S.A. in architectural significance, this magnificent 1887 structure stands as a symbol of Galveston's glorious past. Its stone exterior walls surround an interior of exotic woods, award-winning fireplaces, and beautiful period furniture.
THE STRAND
Your group will be let off to roam around the "Strand" for lunch and to browse and shop. The Strand National Historic Landmark is the finest concentration of 19th century iron-front commercial buildings in the nation. It was once called the "Wall Street" of the Southwest. In this lively area you will find antiques, galleries, curios, gifts and boutiques ranging from an authentic candy factory, to a military surplus store. There are discount stores and restaurants galore.
MOODY MANSION
On a boulevard known for its handsome residences, the Moody Mansion stands out as one of the finest. The impressive limestone and brick mansion at Broadway and 26th Street was designed by William H. Tyndall and completed about 1895 for Mrs. Narcissa Willis. William L. Moody, Jr. acquired the house from Mrs. Willis's heirs after the great hurricane of 1900. The Moody Mansion has been completely restored to its turn of the century splendor. The four-story structure furnished with the Moody family's furniture is a prime example of traditional Victorian lifestyle and architecture.
1894 OPERA HOUSE
If there’s time, we will visit the magnificently restored and ranked among the nation's finest historical commercial restorations, The Grand 1894 Opera House on Galveston Island. Today it serves as a showcase for outstanding live entertainment year round. The Grand was rescued from demolition in the mid 1970's and underwent a 12-year, $7 million refurbishment, which has earned the theatre various awards of excellence in design. With its grandeur restored, The Grand is a unique return to theatre at the turn of the century.
Your cost is $99 per person and includes lunch and tour fees. Bus departs the Galveston Convention Center at 8:30 am and returns to the convention center at approximately 4:30 pm.

TEXAS SEAPORT MUSEUM
Share the adventure of the high seas at the Texas Seaport Museum, home of the celebrated 1877 tall ship Elissa. Walk Elissa's decks and imagine the days when daring sailors challenged the world's oceans. In the adjacent museum and theater, witness the story of Elissa's dramatic rescue from the scrapyard and her meticulous restoration. Located in the historic port of Galveston, the Texas Seaport Museum also tells the story of a rich legacy of seaborne commerce and immigration. Look for ancestors with a one-of-a-kind computer database containing the names of more than 133,000 immigrants who entered the United States through Galveston, "The Ellis Island of the West." Join the Museum's staff and volunteers as they bring the past to life through special exhibits and educational programs.
GALVESTON HARBOR TOUR
Relax and enjoy a private tour around Galveston Bay to cap off your visit to the Texas Seaport Museum. A private ride for group attendees for an hour long cruise in a catamaran sail boat to enjoy the fresh air and sites of Galveston Island. Take in the beauty of the coastline and learn more about to historic place Galveston has in Texas’ history
